Ntokozo Nhlapho: A rising star

Ntokozo Nhlapho is an energetic, bubbly and talented beautician and model. She was born and bred in Vlaklaagte no2, Mpumalanga. Nhlapho defines herself as a very calm and collected young lady, and yes i definitely agree. This 22 year old owns a mobile salon named Beauty and Projects, she basically sells and promotes beauty products. What is so much great about Beauty and Projects is that even if you do not feel like getting out of your house, it follows you in your home where you are most comfortable and pamper you at a calculated rate. " I can do makeup and hair which leaves a room for me to collaborate with a nail artist and many more in the beauty industry, as one cannot master it all" she said.

When explaining how her love for being a beautician started, Nhlapho said " I remember when i was 9 years old, it was me and my doll 'Zuko' who had a long brown curly hair, we used to hang out at sis Thoko's salon". This is proof that 'Zuko' played a very big role in helping her love working with people's hair. This young phenomenal woman continued to say she would take the remaining hairpieces that sis Thoko used on her clients and use them to plait her doll, and eventually sis Thoko allowed her to help at the salon with cutting ends after plaiting her clients," that is when my passion for hair grew even fonder and she( sis Thoko) is the inspiration behind it" she added that she has always had the love for business but she just never imagined it venturing into a mobile salon.

What is so amazing is that she never went for any professional learning to pursue her career, she is self taught- God given talent. We all have those people or person we look up to, this energetic young lady looks up to people like Clara Banx, Ellenor Ndlovu and Bongi Mlotshwa, there is absolutely do doubt that she is one day going to be great like the women she looks up to.

So i wanted to know how she juggles both her jobs; modeling and beautician, and she said to me modeling gig come after a long time so that gives her ample time to focus on both without any clash. Nhlapho's goal is to give young girls an opportunity to learn everything she knows without any cost- As the saying goes, teach a woman and you teach a nation.

To inspire all the people out there who think that they will never make it in life she said, " If i'm originated from the semi-rural of KwaNdebele and I do what I do outside my place of originality very well, surely where you are from does not determine where you are going and what you are destined for. Chase your dreams.

She is a rising a star, South Africa look out for her.
