Twitter makes fun of Khanyi Mbau's "Pink" skin

Media personality Khanyi Mbau found herself being dragged on twitter about her "pink" skin complexion.

It is not a secret that this media darling has bleached her skin, but twitter users were shocked by how "pink" she looked. She has been been trending since Sunday evening after posting a picture of herself on instagram, and this has drawn a lot of criticism. She was all dressed up and had made up, but her followers were more interested in her pale skin, some even said she was competing with the chairs behind her.

Her followers say she ridiculed her and said she was doing a disservice to young girls who look up to her for inspiration. Social media has since been flooded with memes and jokes about her new skin color.

Mbau responded to the tweets and later deleted the post: "Twirra since 2005 and you are still on me...who I marry, what I drive, where I work, how I get my money and now what colour I am!"
when one of her fans asked why does it look like her skin is changing Mbau replied: It's like the value of money boo...it changes.

She is not the first South African celebrity to face criticism over bleaching her skin, Mshoza and Kelly Khumalo have been there too and have admitted to using skin-lightening.

It is crazy that we live in the world where your life can be easier just based on the color of your skin. Many dark skinned people are brainwashed by the media's standard of beauty.
