EMALAHLENI RESIDENTS KILL A MONKEY IN SUSPICIONS OF WITCHCRAFT

Emalahleni Fm shared the news with us this morning that a monkey has been killed in Ackerville, Witbank. It is reported that the monkey was seen in Santa Village yesterday and was chased away by community members.

So, Witbank residences stoned the monkey to death and then burnt it with tired. Can somebody tell me why.... Apparently the community was afraid for their lives, they thought the monkey might attack them while others thought of witchcraft. People of God i am NOT trying to be racist ne but like why do we black people always associate animals like monkeys, owl and cats with witchcraft? are we really that uneducated vele? I tell you if it was a tiger people would call SPCA but no a monkey is killed, come on! This is pure cruelty, the monkey was probably lost.
Does anyone remember what happened in in Cincinnati Zoo a while ago? have we really become that now? But anyway it is fine. Those were just my thoughts ke South Africa. Khesiliseni ukuvaleka amehlo toe!

IT IS WOMAN CRUSH WEDNESDAY

Yes i know others say WCW is Woman Crush Wednesday but can  i just say Working Woman Wednesday!

This lady right here is my WCW.....i will tell you why

Now when we talk about young slayers we mean people like Sindisiwe Twala(24), people who make sure that even when they are not from big cities they work hard and make their way to the big cities.

Twala hails from Witbank, Mpumalanga. Most of the people when they think of Witbank they think drugs, prostitution and crime, but look at what else this place can produce. This young woman did her high school at Reynopark Hoerskool. She then studied journalism at Varsity College. As young as she is she has worked as an editor for The Pioneers magazine, worked for Emalahleni Fm as a news reader, field worker and current affairs co-host, she has worked for Witbank news and she was a marketing assistant for Mpower Fm just to name a new. How inspiring is that hey?

Her passion and obsession for journalism worked out really well for her. A few months ago my WCW joined ANN7 as a news reporter. I know there is still so much in store for her. Girl keep on slaying and fleeking! Uyibambe njalo ntombi.
look at her working between big shots..yes girl

"THOSE WHO SAY KWAITO IS DEAD, LET THEM SHOW US THE GRAVEYARD" those are the words by Paul Kulcha

hahaha i musy say this gentleman right here loves "Lol" it is a good thing though. Supporting local artists is all i am about......kwaito lovers will surely love this interview. OMG i am so amazed by this guy's achivements.

1. Paint a picture about your upbringing and background for those who may not know.
- Paul kulcha was born and raised in Pieterskraal Completed my matric at Mohlabetsi High School in Dennilton. Then joined the Sediba sa Bochabelo Gc choir. At the later stage I met Vusi Nana's Skosana who introduced me in to entertainment industry then we started making movie's. Our first movie is Hoek line which we did in  2010 and the second one is Facts of love in 2013 where I was acting and producing. And I was also a member of Mandlethu Gospel singers. In 2015 I opened my own Company called Kulcha platinum production which is where I will be busy furthering my music career and making other young Mpumalanga talented stars to further their music dreams.

2. What is the greatest lesson you have learnt since making music?
-Do your own thing do not copy what others do above everything be talented

3. People say kwaito is dead, your take on that?
-Those who are saying kwaito is dead let them show us the grave yard , lol. kwaito beats changes every  time  , in these generation  we are dancing for music like new age kwaito , skhanda and Durban kwaito and the fact is, all these south african township music is kwaito . 5th generation of kwaito  is mixture of house & hip hop  e.g  Kid x & big nuz. I am not against hip hop I love it actually but I still say kwaito will never die kwaito is here to stay.

4. Besides making kwaito music, is there anything else you do?
Oh yes, I am an actor  I am also a member of c lap and tap choir Mandlethu gospel singers.
I also work for a certain IT Company.

5. Should we expect anything from you soon?
Yes we are shooting a romantic movie/drama under my own Kulcha platinum production which is gonna be shown early next year 2017.

5. What is your biggest dream as an artist?
- To see my own production company grow and to promote Mpumalanga artists especially KwaNdebele. And also see myself grow in entertainment industry.

Still on Mpumalanga Sunshine Media Awards guys. I took time and profiled this phenomenal artist. I must say GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO GO OUT AND HUSTLE!

IT IS WITH SO MUCH PLEASURE TO PRESENT TO YOU MXOLISI 'SPICE' TSHABALALA

1.      For those who do not know you, who is Mxolisi "Spice" Tshabalala?

Spice is a versatile hard working recording artist, a producer and also an event’s organizer from Mzinoni Bethal who owns his independent label called Paper Chase Records.

2.      Your track "i number number" made it to the MTV Rate or Hate. Tell me about that.

I was humbled by the support we got from fans rating iNumber number music video which I directed to win best video of January on MTV Base Rate or Hate

3.      The past year you won an award for best Hip Hop song of the year at the MPSMA, how did that change your career?

I must say it did not change My career cause I still face the same challenges like before as a local artist, not enough platform to show case the craft, no big radio interviews as an award winning artist, infect they close more door, but because I mean business and love my craft I’m working ten times harder to push my music and branding myself.

4.      You are nominated again this year in the same category but now with your new song "Push'ilife". Tell me about the song.

Yes but not yet final nominee we still at the campaigning stages. The song features Sands an aspiring afro soul artist from Swaziland, and the song addresses struggles we face ekasi (Poverty, unemployment & hunger for success) and also a motivation to our young black brothers and sisters to keep pushing its possible no matter what dream do come true.

5. So before the MPSMA, you will be at the Beauty, Fashion and Music awards. You are nominated there again, not once but three different categories. How are you feeling?

It’s good to be recognized for your hard work as an artist especially locally, 3 nominations as an independent recording artist it’s a sign no more turning back now.

6. Now this means sleepless nights, you have to campaign for all these awards. What is the plan?
Hard work was in studio making this music to sound good for the people to enjoy, fans will spend their money on something that makes them feel good or something that speaks to them, at the end of the day for me it’s not about winning the awards it’s about touching peoples life’s with my craft.

7. Who inspires you?

I have more than one artist I look up to in the industry cause I respect they hustle to name the few Dj Sbu, Black Coffee, Cassper Nyovest and K.O not only because they are artist cause they are also enterpreneurs

8. You are really a perfect example that one does not need to be from the suburbs to make it in life. There is a young person out there who is so talented and would really love to be where you are, what would you say to advise them?

A Dream without hard work, perseverance, discipline and sacrifices will never come true, you can be talented but without those four things your success will never sustain.

Trust me his new single 'Phush'ilife' is a hit check it out.

METRO FM LISTENERS NOT SO HAPPY WITH THE NEW SHOW

Meet Khanyi Mbau, Somizi Mhlongo and Ntombi Ngcobo who are the presenters of "Whose Show Is It Anyway?"

This trio joined Metro Fm two weeks ago after Tbo Touch resigned from this radio station. They present the mid-mornig show which most of the fans do not really like.
Metro Fm listeners have been voicing out their concerns about the show, where some tweeted that the show is too crowded, Mhlongo should be given a graveyard slot and Ngcobo should just leave the station.

SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago said management will look at exactly what is not really working. Fans tweeted that they will listen to other radio stations than listen to this show, while others will just stay for music.

Let us just hope that this three will improve before Dineo Ranaka takes their slot as the fans suggested.

FOUR SABC JOURNALISTS TO RETURN TO WORK

The Labour court has ruled in favour of the four fired SABC journos.Judge Andre Van Niekerk said that the four journos should be reinstated and they should not face disciplinary action. The court said that the national broadcaster has acted unlawfully by dismissing  these four reporters after they voiced out that they are not impressed by the public broadcaster's decision to ban the visuals of destruction of property during protests.

Above all these, Hlaudi Motsoeneng who is the public broadcaster's COO is going to be held personally liable for the journo's legal costs. How great is that?
Halala to Jacques Steenkamp, Krivani Pillay, Suna Venter and Foeta Krige.....nikulwile ukulwa okuhle.

Let us hope that there will be no beef ke between Motsoeneng and the four journos.

Amen!

As someone who has so much love for Mpumalanga,i thought it would be very great to check out the Mpumalanga Sunshine Media Awards...so i took some time and interviewed Mr Mathutha Masimula.Check this out

1. What is the motivation behind the MPSMA?

The awards initiative is motivated by an urge of the organizers to honor and appreciate the abundance of talent displayed by the media and entertainment industry role players within the province. It is the organisers’ wish to see our media personalities being honored and appreciated from within the province so that they can also attract other platforms outside Mpumalanga. Above all, it is not everyone who gets an opportunity to be in the other awards platforms, therefore the aim is to bridge the gap and bring the awards closer to the people of the province.

2. What makes these awards unique from any other exiting awards ceremonies held every year?

These awards are unique because they are the only platform where media people from national Public broadcasters, Community radio stations, commercial stations, print media, local movies, entertainment industry, motivation, comedy and Television come together under one roof to be honored and appreciated.

3. These awards were inaugurated the past year, what can we expect this year?

The people of the province can this year expect an improved bigger and better awards ceremony with lots of entertainment from the province’s own talented entertainers. The newly added categories are the major highlight of this year.

4. Do you have any plans of making them nationally or they will forever be meant for Mpumalanga only?

For now we are still concentrating on building the Sunshine Awards as a brand so that they can be at the level that we are aiming at. Therefore, our main focus is currently on keeping the awards provincial without really pre-empting the future.

5. Do you look at people from certain age groups or anyone can enter the awards?
The awards are open to everyone who is in the media industry without really restricting them by their age.

6. I see there are new categories; can we expect new categories again next year?

Yes, each and every year will come with its developments and growth prospects. The aim is to grow and adjust the categories each year to improve them in order to become the best thing in the province.
7. The awards are happening in Middelburg this year, how many people do you expect?
The turnout for the inaugural ceremony last year called for measures to look for a bigger venue. That is the reason we have moved this ceremony from a 650 audience capacity to a venue estimated at a 3500 audience capacity. We are expecting to have at least between 2500 to 3000 people attending this year’s awards ceremony

8. To someone who did not attend the awards last year, what can you say to them as motivation for them to buy a ticket this year?

We can only promise everyone the best experience of local talent made in the Mpumalanga province. The live band, choreographers and very energetic dancers from different musical genres from contemporary jazz, afro pop, traditional, hip hop, gospel and house will entertain all the guests. This year’s ceremony will be worth every cent from the people of the Mpumalanga province.

Grab yourself a ticket....see you there family!

SO....LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT HOW I FIND VARSITY LIFE

So in high school I always said I will never set my foot at the university.Do you remember how the high school teachers used to tell us that the university textbooks are too thick and the lecturers come to class and just tell to read three chapters on your own?so i was like "oh no,I am never going to throw myself in the lion's den".Media has always been my passion but hey I just took a decision that I am not going to study further.By the way I matriculated in 2014 and the previous year I said "you know what I am going to work at the community radio station and that's that, there is no university for me".

Life will just take you out your comfort zone. How on earth did I expert to be successful without any qualification?that is when I started applying at Tshwane University of Technology, not that i am blowing my own horn but yes I knew that my application was going to be successful and here I am today studying journalism.

Well let me give you a taste of how it's like here.Life as a student at TUT has been nothing but great thus far. This is not torture at all for me because I am studying what I love, though I need a break sometimes, the workload man is just too much! I managed to make new friends, yes we all need that someone we can always chill with and just laugh about everything.I have learnt a lot of things I did not really know about journalism. University life is just so much nice and it needs a disciplined young person.I have learnt to be responsible and to think for myself, mom is not here to tell me to wash dishes or clean and all that.wash dishes or clean and all that.

The events,oh my,oh my!attending events and having journalists to give us talks to keep the mind off things is such a great thing.I have met people, let me say journalism moguls like Gia Nicolaides and Aldrin Sampear. These famous good souls gave us such great motivation regarding our course, the perks of being in university hey. Then seriousness aside, you know they say "all work no play made John a dull boy",the comedy  nights, the movie nights, the celebrities and and all that, makes my stay at TUT wonderful.

In a nutshell,I love and enjoy TUT and there hasn't been any problem or regrets thus far,i really hope it stays like this forever hey.like hello! who doesn't want such a life?
